My 2011 NZ catalogue gives value for a 1964 set (average circulated condition -whatever that means) as NZD$14 [about CAD$10.50].

Values given for single coins are (first figure AU, second figure UNC);
•halfpenny $4, $4
•penny $3 ($5 BU)
•threepence $3, $3
•sixpence $3, $10
•shilling$5, $6
•florin $8, $18
That's NZ dollar values.

I sold one a little while ago for $5. Theyre very very common but very very beautiful!

Was the penny you saw slabbed?

The $50 is pretty much the grading fee. Although not very valuable theyre always stunning sets. The coins are usually in very very high grades and I just love them.
