Why in the Dansco Eisenhower album with proofs are there slots for " S" coins in both BU and Proof. I thought all "S" mints were proof.

In 1971, 1972,1973,1974,and 1976 they produced 40% Silver Ikes in Blue envelopes that were considered circulation pieces there fore they would be graded MS(comon nickname Blue ikes). the were I guess maybe commerative pieces in away, not really intended for circulation and they also produced 40 % Silver Proof Ikes for those years as well the came in A similar rectangular proof like Holder in a brown Box ( common nickname brown Ikes)

I am aware of the blue and brown Ikes just did not think about them as BU or Proof.

Next question, what if for some reason someone broke them out of their colored holder, is there a way to tell the difference between them?
