Even a copper penny has 2.94g of copper.... And no COA? Is it really mint by RCM, or RCM is just a distributor?

Wow thats around $400.00 after tax and shipping
For around 6 cents worth of copper and some gold plating.
That's expensive art

This subscription is terrible for that price why don't you subscribe to the O'Canada series for an extra 120$ for 6 ounces of silver

It is pretty expensive for copper. It looks like its cheap at first until you add all of it together. I personally think its a cool subscription but for $400... not so much.

Yesterday I got this in the mail from RCM.
The booklet is very colorful and nice looking.
But the collection itself...could serve as a gift, nothing else.

Regarding the price - it even doesn't meter, since anyway we usual to buy overpriced NCLTs and happy with them.

May be it was the way to utilize the copper.

I prefer and would like to have some subscription of NCLT coins with "our Canadian" art on them, something like "O Canada"...totems maybe or other native art.
But not again this fancy staff.

It will probably sell pretty well to the asian community. I am asian and I can tell that people will want this. The religious aspect of it will be attractive. How long does mint usually take to finish these subscriptions? The copper pieces must be very thin to be 0.5grams.

I can agree with you, cfrp

But I will more understand, when China mint issuing such product, and btw they did.
They have similar collection, when each piece has denomination as a coin.

Well so Far O'Canada subscription is shipped on time. I agree with CFRP, this set is gear more toward the Asian market and with mintage of 8888, it is not that bad. I would or prefer it to be silver or gold set instead of the copper set. This is one of the set that C.O.A number may matter. Better hope you don't get 14 or any 4 in your COA. You would hit the jackpot with C.O.A of 8888

If you get a COA with any number of 8s in a row and no number 4s it would be worth more. I do agree that considering there is no "brand" on the coin.. Nothing stating its Canadian mint.. It is on level with any other set that is similar.. And there are a bunch from Asia that are just like this! In gold and silver. I think the Buddha in the middle is interesting as it's basically religious.

The pieces must be paper thing to be 0.5grams each. For all we know they could have bought this from a manufacturer from China and resell it on mint.ca

It really does look like it is from China.

I think with the low entry price of the subscription and the low and unique 8888 mintage it will still sell though.

IMO the art work is terrible. The tiger is lifeless, and the pig, snake and rat are just horrible. The goat and dragon are the only two nice pieces in the series....just my opinion.

A member on one of the other forums pointed out...... this is likely NOT A RCM PRODUCT.

Tell tail signs it is not RCM: there is no English/French or numeric face value, no "CANADA", no Queen, and no RCM name or logo on the case. It looks to be a subscription for the China Mint's product. I'm not touching this at all.

According to the booklet, that I've got - there is RCM logo on the wooden box.

Except this, they mentioned "medallion", so naturally, it shouldn't have denomination, and Queen not suppose to be appear there.

But still it could be Chinese product.
