Trying to figure this one out, at first I was thinking Struck Through Grease, but now not sure. It is very round, the diameter is slightly smaller, but the coin is thicker and the rim is sharp, not worn.

Came from a circulated bank box.

Can you weigh it?

This year should have been 12-sided, not round.

My opinion is that it had an acid wash, plus it WAS 12 sided to start with and mechanically altered to round. That's just my opinion and not fact, but I've seen similar.

Thanks, that sounds like it would make sense. Does acid flatten the dates? Would this be an accidental thing or does someone do it on purpose?

Looks like what we call a " Dryer Coin"... that coin was struck with a 12-sided collar.

Dryer Coin. I've heard some people collect them as novelties, though they don't carry any premium.
