I have a Nickel that I believe is an error coin. I got the links and images all figured out

2008-Nickel,-Error-Or-PMD?
2008-Nickel,-Error-Or-PMD?
2008-Nickel,-Error-Or-PMD?
2008-Nickel,-Error-Or-PMD?
2008-Nickel,-Error-Or-PMD?

It seems as if the letters "ET" in "ELIZABETH" are almost missing altogether. When I hold the coin in the exact right position, I can see the outline of those 2 letters, but the camera just sees the smoothness.

It looks like a Grease Filled Die to me. This happens when grease gets on a die and prevents some detail from being struck onto the coin

Thank you for the reply. Do you know the approximate value of this type of error?

Hi Jard

A very neat error, but unfortunately not a large premium. You see this error once in a while in the post-2000 5c, though not as often before that. Because you have 2 letters in a row that are so completely gone it's more attractive to those who collect this type of variety, so it might be worth a dollar or 2. Not a terribly grand amount, but not a bad return if you picked it up in change. Good eye for finding it!
