What exactly stands out to you about this coin? Is there a seam on the edge? I see no warning signs at all (although Greeks aren't my specialty). Oh and

All of a sudden in the past month or so, I've noticed a lot of these euboia histiaia coins on the market. In fact, I asked about it at the FUN Show to see if there had been a hoard found recently. However, no one had an answer. I have also noticed many that I would question their authenticity. This one I think looks right, but buyer beware. Double check the fake reports. If it's close, stay away.

i really cant tell if its fake or not cause I don't have that much experience. I'm only going by what I have seen on the fake coin reports. and also the dealer that sold it to me wont respond to my emails.

I strongly suspect that you are correct. The following is a diagnostic about fakes of this type put together by a well respected dealer:- There is a batch of these coins that have all been declared fake after a hoard turned up at CNG. They have a distinctive style that allows them to be declared as fake (see below). Obv:- flowing hair, pointing upwards, and the large pellets making up the flowers. This hair style is not found on authentic examples Rev:- poorly executed . On these forgeries AIEWN is always behind the nymph, although this does exist on authentic examples as well. ISTI is always before the nymph's feet. All have the wing on the prow, some very poorly executed and none have any symbols below the prow He has compiled a montage of several fakes for comparison though the image is not exhaustive with regards to the dies used. http://bpmurphy.ancients.info/image...taiacomp.jpgA heavily fakes type that often turns up in "Hoards" that are distributed through unwary/uncaring dealers. for the dealer not to respond to my emails means to me he knew the coin was a fake when he sold it to me. this mite be a stupid question but a prestigious show like NYINC, shouldn't there be some consequences for shady dealers like this one?

The obverse is quite similar to this one from Forvms Ancient Fake site. Reverse not as much but still close.

I avoid these as there are more fakes than I care to fight. While there are real ones with the large balls in the hair, that seems to be a common feature of fakes I have seen so I really would avoid a coin with that hair style unless you buy them from Barry Murphy (link above) or another dealer of that level (there is no level higher IMHO).
