For 2013, the RCM has released a one-ounce, $20 silver "The Beaver" coin and a five-ounce, $50 silver "The Beaver" coin. They've also announced a half-ounce, $10 silver "The Beaver" coin as part of the O Canada subscription series. Within the next month, the RCM will be releasing two more NCLT "The Beaver" coins, one in silver ($25) and one in gold ($5). Is the beaver being celebrated on a national basis in Canada in 2013 for some reason? The number of individual coins focused on the animal is surprising to me. Just curious... Collecting history one coin or medal at a time! (c) commems. All rights reserved.

Well, in regards to the Wildlife Series ie, the grizzely, wolf, moose, cougar and antelope, I wonder if the beaver will be the next in that series. Anybody know?

Wouldn't be surprised if they do a 20 for 20 beaver. 5 more coins to come this year from what I heard.

Has anybody got any credible info on a final number for the 20 for 20 series.. Or is this series to be .. to infinity and beyond..

It's a crime that they used the incredible wildlife series, the only series outside the $20/$20 with any real value, to in essence rope people into the $90 Beaver Maple Leaf. That coin should have been the next coin in the wildlife series, and likely was at one point.

So what, every time they put an animal on a 1oz silver coin, it's a sham because it should be bullion. Why not group of 7 bullion series or Bateman moose bullion. Maybe we will get a beaver bullion, who knows.
