Info like what's in this thread is a large part of what makes CCF worthwhile --- and what this info tells me is that I'm done tempting fate with any more ebay buys.
When the bad dogs out there are counterfeiting just about everything (down to and including 1 oz silver bullion coins in the sub-$50 value ballpark), I think it's time
to stick with the old LCS and reputable national online PM dealers.

I know ebay has their "buyer protection" thing, but I've seen horror stories about that and it doesn't give me enough confidence to keep begging to get ripped off by
the ebay scammers out there. I've done my share of ebay buying, but that's history now. I'm lucky I never did get ripped off.

You're absolutely right, but if I keep tempting fate I know for sure I'll end up getting nailed---and regrettably (at least for me), I'm not one of the rich boys with a bomb shelter
full of bullion who can afford to take that kind of hit. ebay has become a safe haven for counterfeiters, fake-mongers and fine print scammers and these days it's just too risky.

If ebay did any meaningful self-policing and restored their own integrity and credibility things might be different, but I don't see any sign of that happening. It's a shame the minority
of thieves has to impact negatively on the majority of honest sellers, but ebay is letting it happen so the responsibility for it is really on their shoulders.

auptpdag1995, did you ever check out the bar at your local shop? What was the verdict?

@auptpadag1995 I believe you asked me about where I got the Britannia's with no scratches, I didn't find my paper work yet been really busy but it appears going off top of my head, it was APMEX that bought those in November when they were released.
