Hello Everyone,

I was watching home shopping network's coin show and I saw a Presidential error coin graded by NGC that was a double error. The coin did not have the edge lettering and to add to that the coin has a starburst appearance to it as it was Struck Through Grease as NGC puts it. I find that very strange as the edge lettering error was just discovered not to long ago. According to hsn they have most of these errors in their possession which is why I find it very odd for an error like this.

Here is a link to the item.

Any thoughts?

Eric

The grease error is common. The no edge lettering are going for about $100-150 on ebay. If you are going to buy these errors, then settle only for graded coins. They are easy to fake.

Well the first one that sold on ebay did go for $600.

I would find that difficult to believe since there are tens of thousands of these plain edge errors out there.
