Saw the MM, searched on CopperCoins, it matches well with 1MM-003 (CONECA RPM-003), so the day is off to a good start!

That one is in the CONECA Top 100. Congrats. Now do you see why I like RPMs?

Yes, hunting for varieties is fun, I'm hooked.

While looking at a small pile of very nice 57-Ds there sure were a lot of die chips. Many had filled loops-- in the 9, in liBerty, etc. Are die chips a really common thing in Wheats?

From 1954-1958 die chips are more common than not it seems sometimes. 1956 & 1957 are the worst years for chips. I have 4 full tubes of die chips from 1952-1959. Some have three chips on a single coin. Realize that a chip is a broken part of the die. Thus every coin minted with that broken die will have the exact same chip. Quality control was not very good at that time either. Just look at the 1955-DDO-001. How in the heck did that ever make it through?

Can't imagine how exciting it would be to find a 1955-DDO-001 in the wild... or any other dramatically doubled coin.

My first dramatic DD was the 1941P-1DO-003. The feeling is amazing, and addicting.

Found a 1983P-1DR-001 a couple weeks back quite a thrill despite condition. It was a 1983P-1DR-002 that got me started.
