Found this coin while roll hunting and while I'm fairly positive it's a clipped planchet, I just wanted someone more experienced with error coins than me to take a look at it to confirm. Clip is near the top of Jefferson's head.

Right off the bat there isn't anything that would suggest it's fake, but you would need to post a picture of the reverse to verify that it is indeed real.

I do not think it is a clipped planchet, as I do not see either the Blakesley effect, or tapering of the design.
Rest in Peace

Not all clips have the Blakesly effect.

This is why I said "I do not see either the Blakesley effect, or tapering of the design" A true clipped planchet would have a tapering of the design. This one the design just stops. Which means the clip was done AFTER the coin was minted.

With both pictures available, I would say that it is a genuine clip. I can't really put into words as to what I'm seeing as I'm not a very good wordsmith, but I can say that it looks right to me, (though, I could still be wrong). Could you post a pic of the edge? I think this will give a definite answer. There should be a line that separates two different metal textures.
