On the Near Canada the word Canada is closer to the rim. The near Canada has 120 large denticles while the far Canada has 148 small denticles.

Hello Chrycopaul,
Great pictures, is one more collectable than the other? I looked through the few Canadians I have after you posted this picture and have a couple of both of these but not as nice as yours.

I believe the far Canada commands a higher price, but only in higher mint states. It has been my experience that they are both equally available in change. The top quarter is a proof like coin, while the junker on the bottom was culled from change.

The day they get rid of the cent, and the nickel;, will be a sad fday for me! Why? Because the dime will be the smallest coin, and I HATE thedinky little things! I don't like to handle the things. They are just too tiny. I would rather see them get rid of the paper dollar, and also those silly "game tokens"! I like the IKEs' the Morgans, The Pace dollar. Those I can handle with ease. Eve if they do get rid if the cent and the nickel, you can bet I'll still bend over and pick up EVERYONE I see! While they are at it, why not make the cent out of the same calloy as it was originally, asnd call it a five cent coin?
