I sat through the auction of the last 1913 Nickel and I seriously thought it didn't sell for as much as it should have. These are now different economic times and based on the sale of the 1794 SP 66 Silver Dollar - I think the Walton Nickel will sell for approximately $ 6,750,000 .to $7,500,000. Plus the juice. I have seen the Walton example many times and recently at FUN where PCGS graded it PR 63. They kept the coin in the Capitol Plastic Holder with a special, inscription about it belonging to Walton. The Cert was applied to the holder. Sorry to say, even if I could afford the coin ( can't ! ) it would not fit into my AU 58 set. Sorry it won't be placed on regular display at future ANA exhibits.

I had a cheap $3 blue coin folder that had a hole for the 1913 V Nickle, like I would really put $4.9 million coin in this hole!

I know all of the big players will come out for this one and my guess is $3.75 mil.
Given the recent downturn in the PM market if it was a more common coin that the average collector could afford I would think the market scare would cause a lower than previously forcasted a month or 2 ago final bid.

I too have an old Whitman folder with a hole for the 1913 V nickel. Belonged to my grandmother, and I've been using it for my other V nickels. Looking forward to seeing how the hammer falls.

5-6 million. I have to say I absolutely love the information they provided on heritage. it was a real pleasure to read. I'd always been kind of curious about the Walton specimen and they didn't disappoint.
