First the coin:

In my stream of consciousness a few nights ago, I stumbled upon the site of an online coin dealer who was based nearby.
I contact him with a list of coins I'm looking for, he replies, I mention I would be interested in one of the 1887
IHC he had for sale. He had, I think, this one listed for $32, graded AU53 BN and another one a little better for $35. I said I'd by one if he came down to $25, the pesky sales tax, his option to charge I guess, haggles the price back up to $27.
While a higher price than I wanted to pay for the coin, it was also a little higher grade than I was expecting to find at my desired price, so I pulled the trigger on it and broke the ice with the deal. By Numismedia, it looks like I did well on price.
Overall, I'm

, aside from the teeny bit of frustration in trying to get the best photos possible for showing off despite exited shaky hands and trying to improvise a stand to take good pictures of it. I failed with a mangled coat hanger, and had to resort to using a clear glass shade from an old oil lamp and tring to get my camera to rest on it as I pressed the shutter button. Oi!
