I just checked the RCM website and, the second coin is up for sale NOW. The price is $29.95 and the mintage is 30,000. The maximum quantity is 3 coins per household. NOTE: The coin is available for MC members only.

This first glow in the dark re-ignighted my tween's imagination. I also gave one to another tween who now is very much interested in coin roll hunting. For me, that alone made it worth trying to get a couple for them this time around.

Is this serious, the coins have been out for days. Lots of people will have a chance to them, not just MC members.

Do you have the link for it? I looked on the site and did not see it.

@elkslayer said they were available for MC members only until Tuesday when they will be for sale to general public.

Thanks Rockdaddy. I had started to think the past three days had been a dream. You haven't missed anything @CoinsKelly just go to mint.ca on or after Februray 5th. The coin will be available. If you want to see it now, go here http://www.ebay.com/itm/Prehistoric...em43b846e820. This guy is using the mint photos and description in his listing.

Quote: Oh well, guess I will miss out. I don't think so, they are non-precious metal boutique coins . This time they will not have the benefit of news and newspaper coverage of the " new glow in the dark technology " from the Canadian mint. I think the people that weren't interested the first time around, after all the buzz and news coverage, certainly won't me interested the second time around.Especially if they think they may have to pay inflated prices on the secondary market for the first coin in order to complete any set they may start. Even the first coin I still got on the secondary market for $5 over issue six months after issue. I personally think that there will be plenty to be had next Tues.

You will be able to get lots of them at issue price if you want, it won't be difficult.

Yes, you will get them at issue price but don't delay too long. I think it will be sold in a few days when released to the general public.

The kids are looking forward to it. It is not about trying to get it at the issue price (thought I will not pay an arm and a leg to get them), it is fun for them to know the day the coin is ordered from the mint and the anticipation of it arriving. "Mom, we will be the only owners!". I thought the first one was going to drive them crazy since it took so long.
Some may view this as a gimmick or a fad, which it very well could be. However, my 13 yer old was losing interest in coins until the first glow in the dark coin was issued. I am sure his interest will fade again but I will take any moments I can to continue to nurse his involvement in coin collecting.
