I have an unknown medal that I've had for awhile. Recently I've been trying to find out what it is. Any info is appreciated.

It looks like a decoration. I know it's not from the Sovereign Order of Malta but it kind of gives me that vibe.

a six-limbed star, overlaying an eight-pointed star - unusual symbolism.
on the six limbs: two crosses, a club, a diamond, and I can't make out the other two.
The two crosses do not appear to be the same.
I can't make out the figure on the central blue disc.

There appears to be a Crown where the suspension-ring meets the chain.
A close-up of the crown might help.

Are there any clues on the reverse ?

I've never seen anything like it, but it looks as if someone has gone to a lot of trouble to make an impressive award or decoration.

If you can add to what I've been able to extract,there will be a better chance that someone will be able to pin this down.

I'm confused by the mixture of symbols -
the crosses suggest religious;
the club & diamond suggest recreational;
the crown suggests the authority of a (the) state.

From the shape of the cross it looks like it may be Scottish rite or masonic of some sort I can't make out the coat of arms or any other symbols
