Just picked a Edward VII florin up at close to melt, this was described as a 1909 Florin.

Am I wrong or is this actually 1905?

Here's how a 5 should look, to be sure you could try an electron microscope which a local numismatic society should have, hope that helps

Now that's a lovely coin, wouldn't mind adding that!

I think it's a 5 because the curve of the 9 is downwards and inwards whereas the 5 is more of a genuine you shaped bend, just wanted a second opinion.

IMO I would say its 1909, the design of the last numeral looks to match that of a 9 rather than a 5. It's hard to say for sure as picture is quite small.

Hmmm, really? If you turn the coin so that 1 of the 1905 is flat horizontally the gap in between of the tail of the 9 and the round bit is 'V' shaped whereas a 5 is 'U' shaped. This definitely looks 'U' shaped to me.

Its quite difficult to say 100% due to the picture. I'm sure as soon as you receive it in hand the coin will reveal all under a magnifying glass
