Here is an nice 78-CC, one which I was hoping you would chime in on. The coin is in an older PCGS slab and is graded MS-62. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

Great looking coin, to bad about the bag marks on the face, without them I think it would grade much higher.

Hope you got it at a good price.

It has a lot going for it, for a 62 - nice frost, clean fields, and an especially nice reverse. I guess the marks between the nose and eye are kinda prominent? That's the only thing holding it back.

Hi B-D,
Looks like there are a couple noticeable cuts or scratches along the jaw line and near the chin. Add in the little scrape below P-L of Pluribus and I think the MS-62 grade is fair. If you crack it out and resubmit it could come back 63 but it would be a gamble. I'd definitely keep it in the old holder. Buyers seem willing to pay more for coins in the older slabs so that would be an advantage if/when you decide to sell it. Still a very decent '78-CC.

Is that a die crack right of "T" through "ED" on the reverse, or a slab scratch? If a die crack, me likee.
