Hey everyone I am new to collecting and I believe I have found something interesting amongst my grandfathers things. I was wondering if anyone could give me a rough grade and price on this item. Oh any advice on how I can send this thing off to get graded would also help or which auction place is most recommended. Thanks guys

I tried to do as much research as possible regarding the authenicity of this coin. It weighs 26.9grams. And passed the magnetic test. have also been told by 2 local coin shop owners they see no reason to see why It is fake. I was advised that I should send it out to the ngc to be graded. But I'm real iffy about sending this oh via mail. Any advice on this matter? This would be the first time I've sent something out to be graded and wouldn't know where to begin. Thank you

HINT: Get it properly insured/appraised at the most reputable establishment in your state.

Get the weight notarized and take clear close-ups of the coin before you entrust it to any hi-end appraisal specialist(s). counterfeits are certainly available for this coin.
