When I set out to get a scale, I was looking at them on ebay and Kijiji. I held off, because I prefer to buy locally if I can. But I didn't know where to look. Then one day, when I was in a local convenience store, I noticed some electronic scales in a display case. I bought it and took it home. Then I later took it back to the store and exchanged it for one that had ozt. (Not all of them have that.) I think I paid about 20 bucks for it. So, why would convenience stores be selling portable electronic scales? I'm not sure, but you can often find them next to the funny little pipes!

Okay! I assume that you've had good luck with that one. Will definitely think about it. Its probably worth a little extra for a better quality scale.

I started a topic about this in the supplies forum a while back. I decided to go with an AWS scale that I got for around $15. I think it was an AWS 100 if I remember correctly. I really like the one that I have. It only goes up to 100g but I have rarely had to weigh anything over that.

Mine is the AMW-550 by AWS. Looks very much like SsuperDdave's. It reads to 550 grams, but only has 0.1g precision.

I decided to go with a scale that reads into the hundredths, 0.01g. Depends on what you are looking for. I also have a larger scale that I found at Harbor Freight for a good deal.

You cannot reliably weigh a coin with a scale which only resolves to 0.1g.

Considering all three of the ones you linked have a .01 precision, and the price difference is so slight I would spring for the 300 gram capacity scale.

I have one like this (about $11.) 100 gram capacity with 0.01 gram accuracy, which is ideal for coins.
