The mint just put up some Olympic coins for MC.

1 oz sterling for 150 each. Mintage is 35k but only 3k in Canada.

Themes are hockey, biathlon, alpine skiing and figure skating.

Anyone have a ten foot pole?

$20 tax, forget that. Already available on ebay for the same price and no tax.

That being said, very nice coins. Limited to 35,000 coins worldwide, with only 3,000 coins in Canada.

There are three series of this coin made every year since 2011, all marked 2014 coins. Buyer be ware lots of these out there.

The hockey coin is part of the 2011 series:

I really love it when the RCM posts stuff like this for sale... the prices are so outrageous that I don't need to try to convince myself not to buy.

Thanks CC-Ottawa for update!

I surprised - their Mints still continuously issuing Sterling silver Bullion / Commemorative...

Searched couple of month ago for Soviet (USSR)Commemorative (looked for old USSR design and Coat of Arms) and found one beautiful coin with COA in mint condition, take a look at Item ID = 370729613894 on ebay.
It real Proof Finish and has composition of .900 silver (contains 1oz Pure Silver in it), and commemorates something really important, need to say, that these coins were unreachable for average collectors.

And this series commemorates Sochy Olympic games, which IMO important only to their government / ministers to put more money in the pockets.
It looks like Reverse Proof, weak design. And do not worth $150.
And although Hockey coin looks very interesting to me - I think that will pass on them.

I'll pass on these too, Having said that, the $149.95 is cheap, as I also found them online for $228 Cdn/each!

If he's got them for $127 delivered, there must be another 'original' distributor selling them even cheaper? Time to start surfing the net.
