here is a uniform button probably from the 1700-1800s.
It is made by Firmin and sons and says
108st martins lane .
If anyone has anymore info on this please comment and also comment if you know what its worth!

Thanks
John

You have a two piece button manufactured post US Civil War. The maker is Firmin & Sons out of London. The cool part is Firmin & Sons made buttons for the Confederacy. I believe the way you tell the difference between civil war and post civil war on Firmin & Sons buttons is the mark following their name. If Firmin & Sons ends with LTD or LD this is post war. This is what I was told by a civil war relic dealer. I can check my books and update my post if needed.

As for the script WR or RW ?

If it is military the R may stand for RIFLES.

Like Westminster Rifles or Waterbury Rifles (I just made those up to give you an example)

Definitely not Confederate.
