Need help with this one. The obverse has a large clod of encrustation on the emperor but the reverse type is visible. It's two shields type.

It might be Antoninus Pius. Similar to RIC III 736

Yay, thanks. I looked it up in my brand new set of the RIC.
I got these three as part of a really wierd lot of about 110 coins I bought last week which had Greek, Roman and Byzantine in it. Whole lot was $100. Also found two Claudius "Minerva with shield) As, another large Augustus AE, and one empress I can't figure out - hair has a bun down by the neck and can only make out a few letters but they don't make sense. I'll puzzle over this for a little longer before posting it up.

JCM - awesome lot! I'm guessing your empress is Faustina II. She had her bun pretty far down her head.
