A co-worker just wrote me to say she found a handful of these notes, in brand new condition, as she is cleaning out her mother in laws house.(she passed away). she wants me to find out what they are worth. I have not seen them yet but she says they look like they were just printed, and I do not know if they have a devils face or which signatures are on them. She wants me to offer her something for them, but I have no idea what to tell her,as I have not seen them yet.. what would you all suggest as a fair price if they are in mint state or close. with and without a devil's face .. thanks in advance for any help you can offer..Bills are not my strong point..so I want to do whatever I can to help her out.

Hi silverwolf, That is a hard question to answer, you can't value currency without seeing it.
Is it possible to post a few photos, so we can see signatures, etc.

I think you should really have to see them before making any offers but I think devil face $20.00 notes start at around $400.00+ each for cheapest unc note, and the modified $20.00 notes start around $75.00+ each for the cheapest unc one

Best thing to do is view the notes..What she calls unc.. could actually be circulated but in great shape which would affect the value greatly.. What will you do with the notes after , if you do not collect them...

Like ShaftA said, it is very difficult to value paper money without seeing any pictures.

Check this website http://www.coinsandcanada.com/bank-...s-prices.php for list values and pictures that will help you identify whether or not they are Devil's Face.

Here are the descriptions for how to grade the higher grades of bills. Should get you in the ballpark.

• UN (Uncirculated) - A perfectly preserved note with crisp clean paper and sharp square corners.
• AU (About Uncirculated) - An almost perfect note with only very minor handling. May have a bank counting fold at a corner or one light fold through the center. A note in this condition cannot be creased, a crease being a hard fold which has "broken" the surface of the note. Paper is clean and corners are not rounded.
• XF (Extremely Fine) - A very attractive note with only light handling. May have a maximum of three light folds or one strong crease. Paper is clean and corners may show only the slightest evidence of rounding. There may also be the slightest sign of wear where a fold meets the edge.
• VF (Very Fine) - An attractive note, but with more evidence of handling and wear. May have several folds both vertically and horizontally. Paper may have minimal dirt but is still relatively crisp and not floppy. There are no tears into the border area, but may show slight wear. Corners also show wear but not full rounding.
