Is there a way to put a CCF icon on my desk so I can just click it and go?

Most browsers all you have to do is this...

Minimize everything but your browser.

Size your browser window so some of your desktop is showing.

Click on the icon before the url in your browser and hold the button down while dragging it to your desktop then release the button.

John1, if you are using a windows operating system, here is what you do.

  • On the desktop right click in a clean area (not on top of an icon)

  • Find "New â-º" in the dropdown list

  • Select shortcut

  • In the text bar type "www.coincommunity.com" without the quotes and click Next

  • Name the shortcut, probably CCF would do well, and click Finish

If you don't want the main CCF page and instead want a particular forum, while already in that forum, copy the location from your browser and paste it in place of "www.coincommunity.com. For example, if you wanted the Classic US Coin Forum, you would put in "http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/...FORUM_ID=3", again without the quotes. All Canadian Coin Forum would be "http://www.coincommunity.com/forum/...?CAT_ID=26", etc.

Fine, or you can do it Bobby's way and same time and effort.

Having some trouble. First I logged out here and then did what TJB17 said but it goes to CCF through IE and I want to use fox. Then I went to fox and did what bobby said and when I click on the icon it goes to CCF but through IE again?

I just put everything in my bookmark bar. I have a few sites I check everyday and hate my desktop cluttered with icons.

Open up firefox.

Go to Tools >> Options >> Advanced >> General

Click the button to make Firefox your default browser. Close your browser and try again.
