Ok I know the 1943 is a die chip. The 1942 is doubled but what is that stuff beside the leafs. Thanks guys

Hans Zoell called that 'mortar set' phenomena - it is when the chrome plating on the working dies chips off... have not seen it on a 1942 cent before though.

No. You might get a small premium if you can find a similar example in a red mint-state coin... there simply is no demand for minor die varieties in Canadian small cents.
