Got a Teknetics Alpha for Christmas. Have had it out maybe 6 times. Bought a cheap headphones and used them the last 3 times out. Today the sound quit working through the headphones. I unplugged them and plugged them back in and it worked for a little while and quit again. How can I tell where the problem is?

you need to determine why the headsets are failing. You should test the headphones in another device, and/or test another set of headphones on the detector if you can. Do you have a headphone outlet/jack on your PC to test sounds or music?

Fuzzy gave good advice.
My Grey Ghost phones are a year old and crapped out on me already. These are premium headphones built specifically for detectors. They cost over $100, they do have a limited warranty that covers parts but not labor and of course not shipping and handling.
