Images can be deceiving. Not cleaned.
This is a very difficult coin to grade for a few reasons easily seen in hand. Lets have some fun on a freezing rain kind of day.

Looks like the die was almost done for.
What happened to the uppermost laurel leaf?

Good eye on the die....LOL..... Retained broken die, but the obv. is the broken part. Why only 60?

Though an interesting coin,it has absolutely no eye appeal for me.The reverse rim is very distracting, there's weakness on both sides, distracting marks on the obverse, and part of the laurel leaf is missing.I think that if this coin is indeed MS in hand, how much would I pay? MS60

Great input! In hand the coin drips with luster, and the eye appeal is totally different from the untouched scan. I am going through a bunch of stuff to flog to take my sweetie on a trip. She is very ill. Saw this one and thought I would put it up for fun. DBM, pm me if you are looking for any 5 cents. I have shall we say a bunch of ICCS and CCCS as well as raw to go.

I think have held this coin in hand... pity how a flatbed scan can take the life out of a coin. The marks I am seeing seem to be 'floating' above the coin, like scratches on the TPG plastic holder...

What the heck is under the crown on the reverse? It looks like pencil drawings.

Hi nickelsguy,

Hope all's well with you and yours... :)

Since we're doin' this for "fun"... maybe we would get a chuckle out of what grade the "garbage bag" company assigned to this example...

Take care, and Have a Great Tuesday everyone!

lol well I was thinking like a Canadian grader... Ok if it was in my hands I would sell it as MS 64 but I dont think I could justify a higher grade. any way you look at it shes a beauty
