1,512,247 were recorded
ESC 849B 48 arcs die nr
ESC 850 42 arcs
ESC 851 48 arcs no die nr
ESC 852 38 arcs
ESC 850 is the rarest and catalogues about £100 in Fine. The obverse of yours is way below this.

Because I didn't know this coin, I just started searching in the Spink catalog (Catalog of coins of England and UK, edition 2010). Spink gives several references for 1879 (mdccclxxix):
- Reference 3893: die number below bust: quoted as extremely rare
- Reference 3896: 42 arcs, no die number below bust: F100 - VF250 - XF 550- UNC1100
- Reference 3897: 48 arcs, WW below bust: F20 - VF45 - XF175 - UNC 450
- Reference 3898: 38 arcs, no WW below bust: F20 - VF45 - XF175 - UNC 450

The picture of the obverse is not sharp enough to assess the presence of the WW or the die number. Can you please have a look at that and tell us (or even better, show us a detail pic of it)
