I'm talking about the stars in the left. Any ideas what would cause this to happen, or is it PMD?

I don't believe this was caused by PMD. I would suspect grease on the die that didn't allow a full-strike.

It doesn't look like a PMD to me.

It does appear cleaned... but the problem with the stars could just be a weak strike.

Could be Grease Filled Dies or a striking problem from out of parallel dies. What does the reverse look like?

here it is...nothing out of the ordinary here I'd say. Not too familiar with the seated liberty series though

OK, that eliminates the dies being out of parallel, so it looks like a Grease Fill.
