Beginning to go through the State Quarters in my collection handed down by my deceased family member.

There are tons of State Quarters! I was planning on going through the lot to check for errors and then cash them into the bank. I understand most of the circulated State Quarters are worth face value.

What are some State Quarter errors I should look out for?

Thank you!

If you find something that is interesting ask.

There are a lot of things people save that are not errors.
Die cracks, chips, breaks, Machine Doubling ETC. So take your time with them and look at the Minnesota & Wisconsin Quarters last. (Save them for now.) There are a few varieties on these.

Probably the most valuable are the Wisconsin and the Washington D.C.-joey

Something else to check is rotation on the OBV/REV direction of the coins. Medal alignment are common for some countries and 180 degree rotation is correct for the U.S. Some of the Philly P quarters have a medal alignment. But when in question ask, or check other examples of the same date to see if something find is normal or something to set aside. At one time people were going crazy over die cracks and chips, but interest fell off on these. IE "Spitting horse" and othe cutsie names to unload the examples that people found of dies breaking down. But keep us posted and ask questions. Not only you learn, others do as well.
