I would suspect,,,, that this was the Chinese, in a way, of yea, getting back at the US lol I am sure they were driving China nuts with the back and forth, which I am sure this is NOT the last we see of this nonsense out of DC.

Quote: I would suspect,,,, that this was the Chinese, in a way, of yea, getting back at the US That could be but as you know the Chinese bought all those bonds for their own reasons.(trading and inflation) But they've already slowed down purchasing your debt and with the shenanigans going on in the DC, its at the very least scaring them into NOT buying more... And since the debt ceiling is being raised and most likely will be raised again. the question, is who's going to continue buying the debt? Since the Fed is already up to its eyeballs with QE....

Quote: But they've already slowed down purchasing your debt Cus their economy significantly slowed down. Their huge boom is over so they have less cash to throw around. Quote: And since the debt ceiling is being raised and most likely will be raised again. Its going to be raised for ever. Its nothing but some symbolic thing. Until theres a landslide of incumbents losing because of it nothing will change with that. 2016 would be the minimum date anyway for a legitimate discussion to happen with that and really its more like 2020. Its not something you take on in your first term.

I actually looked up the debt problem once and was surprised to see that it has been a continuous mechanism for over a hundred years. So, yeah, it apparently is less important than most of us thought.

just a quick note here-
what we are looking for is for both gold and silver to hold on their their gap ups yesterday. all too often the moves fizzle out.
when looking at these things, one must look and see from where is price coming from and going too and also for confirmation, follow through. All these things combined over time paint a broader picture.

Sure we are getting close to testing highs from 07 and 10, it certainly seems like we could go lower yet, might take a while. Copper is supposed to be in surplus next year.

My friends-
this week our attention first should be focused on how well do silver and gold hold the 10/17 gap up.
As of now, it is still trading in a range.
more later

heads up
1- GLD coming up now into the upper range here.
2- SLV also pushing into the upper range
Despite these moves, remember that gold and silver are still in downtrends.

There has got to be enough material on this subject for someone's Master's Thesis. I popped over to kitco, saw that Gold was up and read the headlines.
It seems the Gold bugs were encouraged to think QE forever by the week Jobs report.
Hmmmmm...We were told, in the Guard, that at least 100,000 Civilians were laid off in September in anticipation of the Government shut down. These were workers for Government Contractors and Suppliers who were expecting a reduction in demand for their goods and Services. For instance Companies that provide shelf stable food for short term demands.
So what is it going to look like next month when the full 800,000 laid off Fed workers get factored in?

A few headlines; OPTIONS PLAY: DECEMBER GOLD FUTURES RALLY ABOUT $93/OUNCE IN 6 DAYS THE COMEX GOLD MARKET SEEMED TO BE EXTREMELY HAPPY WITH THE DEAL THAT OBAMA AND CONGRESS MADE. Gold price smashes back above its 100 day moving average on bad but ‘good' US unemployment data The Federal Reserve's flagship monetary policy is tied to a piece of statistical data that doesn't even exist

Yes I know about the bitcoin limits but I'm sure they will wnd up being regulated somehow someway. I also read that most likely other large banks may follow suit. I wouldn't keep any funds in those large banks
