With today's bounce up silver is now above my DCA. Not bad for a guy who didn't start buying until Dec 2011 and has accumulated a few hundred ozs. I've sold some off on a few occasions to chase down firearms but the last buy in the $18 range is what got the DCA below $24.
For tonight I can go to bed with a big smile on my face. I'll worry about if I stay above water in the next few weeks.

What's going on? Is the price of Silver and Gold (not SLV or GLD) trending right back up during the standard fall increase period?! What's that, you all ignored uncle Anjohl GUARENDAMNTEEING you that silver would be above $30/oz by October 31st?
It's SO devilishly satisfying to be proven right.

One of the greatest simple two dimensional video games ever made before the modern game era is CIVILIZATION....
You could pick any country like India or Italy to where on earth and start out with one castle and couple blocks of land. In time you build your empire through a mix of technology and military domination....

Fact is China does not have the smartest technology in place currently the USA is via weapons we could not wrap our minds around. China knows this, we could wipe out their ENTIRE population out and not destroy one brick of the foundation of their cities....
Dad always said most people are just going through life with blinders on simple folk some smart enough to find a TRADE something they are an expert in and specialize in, car mechanic, lock smith etc....
HOWEVER about 10% of the world, the Von Brauns of the world who chose to live in AMERICA not RUSSIA is the big difference in our tech superiority....
I don't care how many soldiers China has line them up we got the tech to knock the all down....
Now then USA school and overall intelligence is falling by waist side compared to China and other countries so no doubt in 25 to 50 to 100 years everything I said above very well could change, but for now the USA is swing the biggest guns and the rest of the world knows it and is not gonna bite the hand that feeds, via countless dollars in USA exports and imports....

And I agree with Hawkies comments. He gets it and nails it, just the sheer military might and size and advantage of the US backs up the USD.
Other world governments WISH they could do the same, but they cant and never will. China NEEDS the USA, they CANNOT EVER think of the dollar dying, because they would be one of the first ones to be toast.
So yea, China will continue to buy US debt, US dollars and send money into this country. They HAVE too.

Not to mention China doesn't want to be a dominate currency. A cheap currency helps them keeps costs down which means everyone wants to buy their goods which helps their economy and growth. The more highly valued your dollar is the less people want to buy from you which turns into a consumer nation which is the exact opposite of what a Communist country wants. Theres a fine line where increased currency price becomes counter productive

Anyhow on the import/export thought I love how George would always say he worked for a made up company in Vandaly industries lol. Via he was an importer/ exporter lol....
Then he tried to get a job as latex salesmen an he put Jerrry's number in as-Vandalay industries...
So he had been waiting for call all week but they didn't call til he was tied up on toilet....
He heard Kramer answer the phone an instantly say-No wrong number this is Jerry's place not Vandalay industries an George comes runnin with pants around ankles an falls on face as Kramer hangs up and Jerry walks in a sees George an he says-So you wanna be my latex salesman eh, lol....
To my point I am BOTTOM OF BARREL but I truly am importer an exporter as I average about 5k a year in overseas sells and no telling how much I buy overseas in bulk to sell later solo....
I have great relationship with a couple starwars custom guys in UK and European transformer guy in Holland and I got a great guy I buy some and sell pmz to. They NEVER take for granite my business and always offer me fair deals in bulk before listing. I realize they may not get as much sells as one in USA....
I feel like I'm helping them they help me great relationship via not just one party benefiting....
Now then again that is just little ol me server/eBay Kevin imagine how much the big industry's buy and sell overseas as it probably could not feasibly all be added up....

So my understanding is that the market is up right now on short covering and Gold Bug Euphoria; and not fundamentals.
I understand that perception is reality, but...really? What happens when you float on the top of a stream of tulle fog when the sun comes out?

Jim you lost me when you said "tulle" at first glance I thought you meant tulips?
I was not sure if you meant that or not but the TULIP'S in Europe at that odd time in history which coincided with decorative art decor theme of the times perhaps IMO, and for whatever crazy reason hit some real highs for an organic item lol....
I just think one is comparing apples and oranges, via tulips to metals.....
I really like the story of coffee and not to go into one of my typical long winded rants let me see if I can shorten this story cliff note style lol....
Guy from South America of military status visiting King George in France who owned the only known coffee plant/plants in Europe at that time, a HIGHLY protected plant and commodity....
He did well with the lady persuasion and perhaps seduced a lady in the court with access to the plant. She smuggled him out one tiny clipping of the plant in a larger flower ensemble....
That same tiny clipping was carefully smuggled back to South America where today it is the mother of all the coffee plants in all of South America as he knew it would thrive in that climate. Today a MULTI million dollar trading commodity that guys like Yup make good money on every day in the short and long positions eh....

Lol, no Hawk, Tulle fog is an especially dense fog, usually seen in coastal regions. This is fog is so thick that you can not see, literaly, 4 to 5 feet in front of you. It is where the expression "fog thick enough to cut" comes from.
It is so dense that is seems to have real substance. But in the morning when the Sun comes out it disappears; as though it was never there.
There are in fact many folk tales of people building homes on Tulle fog, climbing tulle fog mountains, ect ect.
The moral always is that not all that seems to have substance; does.

You must keep in mind as of most recently the gold to silver ratio has been about 65 to 1, basically the HIGHEST it has ever been in history....
Many feel 16 to 1 as it was for eons until recent decades, is where it should be but I don't see that happening anytime soon....
Gold is just stuck just shy of 1400, as that is HUGE marker for gold that 1400 Mendoza line and soon as it crosses it, well level on up perhaps....
