Well, I had to send back my ASE as it had scratches on the rev. VACookeys coin was, of course, perfect. Well I got my replacement today. All the fuzz you see is in the air tight. Will have to get some compressed air to blast it later...

Also, I know the special proof set was simply a repackaging of what I already had. But I saw the pics, and the premium was not that bad and silver is never a bad buy (within reason of course). I got one for VACookey for valentines, and one for myself. Folks, these sets are MARVELOUS! Her reaction on opening the set was OH WOW! I hope they do these here on out...

I hate the price on the silver proof set but the more I see them the more tempted I am to get one. Congrats on the successful swap for the ASE as well

Basebal, it is beautiful dude. Pics do NOT do it justice. The premium is not that bad. Well worth it IMO.

Ahhhhh no. But 150.00 will get you that set. I believe they are still available.

After complaining that the premium was too high for the LE Set I, of course, caved and ordered a few...first just one for the collection...then a 2nd to maybe sell or pass on...and then a 3rd for who knows what reason...

Got the 1st one yesterday and it does look great...2nd one coming today

I really am glad that I live near the mint in Philadelphia. I saw this set there yesterday, and almost bought it. Stunning looking set.

I must admit that the sell-out of the regular 2012 Silver Proof Set changed my mind about getting a 2012 Limited Edition Set.

I did like the Limited's packaging and "all silver Proof coins in one lens", even more so now that I have it in hand!

With the silver JFK and Dime being under 500k mintage, and 2012 Silver Proof Sets around $100 on the Bay, the Limited Set is not a bad deal, really.

I got my set last month and ordered two more sets last week. They are pretty and the mint put out the lowest silver proof numbers in years and only 50K of the special silver proof set.

I see that the annual silver proof set which I paid $67.95 for is generally going for twice that on ebay. The special silver proof sets are not at that kind of premium. The current ceiling seems to be about $200 for a set costing $149.95.

2012 PF set is sold out...premium makes sense

2012 LE set is not....ANY premium makes no sense

Fox, I don't get that either. Why would anyone pay a premium if they can still get them at cost? Only thing I can think is it has flown under the radar as far as the general collecting public is concerned and they think they can't get it any other way.

Some of those sellers are clearly hoping some people are confused and will mistakenly assume the Silver Proof Quarters Set and the Limited Edition Silver Proof Set are Sold Out...

...and I would think that they are rejects that are on ebay...much safer to order from the Mint and return if the quality sucks...no middleman involved
