Hello, I have an Atocha coin and I see one or two where the coin owner says the date can be seen on the coin.
How do I locate the date on my coin?
Spanish coin from the early 17th century. Thanks.

Um... if someone told you where to find the date on the coin... why are you asking where to find the date on the coin? Don't trust his judgment?

For the record, assuming it is a typical Potosi mint Atocha piece... IF it is dated (only from 1617 forward), it is located in the 10 o'clock to 12 o'clock position on the cross side.

Post a pic and we can seperate imagination from reality. Are any digit(s) of the date indicated on the COA or the "flip tag"?

The tag has #### for the date.
The COA does the same.
It's from the Reign of Philip III
and the coin has a serial number which by to prove it's genuine and registered with the Fisher museum.
The rules do not let me post a link where you can zoom in and see the detail of my coin.

When the photos were taken I did not know top from bottom, so 10 o'clock may not be 10 o'clock on the photos.
