I wanted to share a little story with you. This morning while attempting to get a little cash out of the ATM, the machine decided that it liked my card more than I did. After several minutes of trying to retrieve the card, I went ahead and went inside. The teller opened the ATM machine to find that my card was not the only one being held. Two additional cards had been confiscated by the machine during the night.
While waiting patiently for the return of my card, the teller remembered that I was a coin dealer. She pulled out a small cardboard box from under the counter containing 36 Silver quarters ranging in dates from 1945-1964. I happily paid the face value for the coins and left a 1926 Peace dollar (pocket piece) for a tip.
We were both very happy at the time of my departure. Just goes to show that you never know where your next coin find will turn up.

"36 Silver quarters"

great find. I have looked through hundreds of quarters in the last 6 months, and I think so far have found 2 pre 65's.
Rest in Peace

Did the tellers save them for you over time, or did someone turn in a roll and you did not get the other four? That is a lot of silver to pick up at once. Are they going to be "recycled" into the Coinfest event?hehehe Mike

The ATM must have known that they had those coins for you and decided to eat your card so you'd have to come in to get them! Not a bad price to pay for a little bit of a delay, huh? Pays to be nice to your bank tellers- chocolate is a good bribe!

There are quite a few tellers around the Dover area that have my business card taped up in their work station. I try to visit each bank once per week to buy any finds. 99% of the time, the "find" ends up being Star Notes or an "S" mint coin. Rarely is it silver. These coins WILL be going into the CoinFest hopper.

I bought 40 roll's of quarter's and found 6 silver washington's. I usually just roll them back up and turn them back in. and do it over and over. I have probably found $200 face this way, over the last 2 year's
