Hi everyone. I have an Apollo gold coin collection that I received as a gift from Italy. I don't have it my possession right now, but I believe there are roughly 6 coins or so in it, from large to small. They depict several of the Apollo missions.

Can anyone tell me any information on these if you know what I'm talking about? Are they worth anything? I am assuming they are not solid gold.

Thank you !

It's very likely that you'll need to provide pictures of the pieces before anyone can help you (unless you're really lucky!)

I can tell you the US Mint has not produced a set of gold Apollo mission coins or medals. So, this post might be better off it were to be moved to the World Coins section - it would likely be seen by more collectors familiar with commemoratives from Europe.

Good luck!

Thanks for the reply. I will try to get some pictures of them. They are at my parents house, so next time I go over there I will snap some pictures.

It looks very similar to the ones sold here:

Accept I have more coins, some smaller ones. They are in the same red case though and I believe they are Apollo 8-13.

Can you move this to the other forum? OR should I make a new post?

Thanks

I've taken a look at the Heritage Auctions lot for which you provided a link. The pieces you are inquiring about are medals not coins - they have no monetary value other than the value of the gold they contain.

I've asked the Moderator to move your post to the Medals section where it might be better served.

Great thank you! Hopefully I can get some pictures this weekend, because I can't seem to find anything that looks like what I have, well with the same number of coins.
