I've had this brass token for some time, but I haven't been able to find a match anywhere. Judging by the style of the "C", apparently done by hand on each die, I might guess the mid-late 1800s. If you have a more informed opinion, thanks!

Unfortunately with these I think they just have to be chalked up as mavericks....very difficult if not impossible to place to an exact date or use...

I'd guess it's late 1800's or early 1900's. You gave no indication of its size, DVcollector. This dual-sided token may have been used in an early vending or gaming machine. My rationale for suspecting this is that it has been well used, judging from the "circulation marks" yet evidences proportionately moderate wear from handling. Those four dots remain quite prominent and may well be a clue to the establishment's name.

Thanks ExoGuy--I can't find the token presently, but I recall it's the size/weight of a nickel.
