I recently read something by Mike Diamond regarding this subject. No idea where it was, or how I found it.
Maybe he'll see this.

Yes. I read that piece ... we plan on doing something for Coin World ... not sure what yet ... possibly looking at a dozed Cu/Ni (clad) coin alloy fractured errors under XRF analysis and see what their make-up alloys are on these piece ... as an example ... consistently high Bi ... maybe just bad annealing ... with no real contaminants or undesirable levels of metals like Bi making the overall alloy brittle ... we shall see ...
