1983 Small Date? And 1940 Wide Date?

Just went through 10 rolls of pennies and found what looks to be a 1983 small date is this a possibility or is it just my eyes? I also found what looks to be a 1940 with the spacing in between the date is very wide is this possible?

1982 is the only known year of Small and Large Dates for the Zincoln issues. As far as date spacing, check it against another 1940 and you should see that it matches up. The date is part of the master hub design so the spacing between devices is not variable for a single given year but there is some spacing variation between different years.
