I have a 1865 3 cent nickel with a strange mark on it. On face of coin in the center is a round protruding dobb of silver with a small nipple in center of it? If I can figure out how to do it I will put a picture of it on here. Any one have an idea what this is?

Maybe it's a blob of solder? I could see this coin's reverse making a nice cufflink or tie tack for a man's name like Joe Blow III...

If it is an iPhone, instructions are posted here https://goccf.com/t/139589 (you will need to scroll down).

If not, type your phone type in the search field and you get some hits.

Sounds like an ex-jewelry piece, a stud of some kind or a button. Reverse of the nickel Three Cent would make a nice looking button.

I think you may be right Conder. I'm still working on getting picture up but having hard time. If that's what it is is the coin ruined?
