I just recievced this coin. Id like to resuce it from its prison. Poor girl has been polished to near death. I think she.needs a good home to retire to.
I cant upload pics from my phone, so the ebay pic is it. There doesn't apear to be seam and no screws. Any thots on how too get her outta there at home, i.e. without going to a jeweler.

an image of the back would be wonderful. Does the bracelet part appeared glued or soldered to the back?

It is sodered. The back is just a soild palte of the same material as the bracelet with a 3/8 in long soder strip right in the middle of the coin where the two pieces of metal from the bracelet loop together. The rim of the holder does not extend to the face of the morgan, only about halfway up rim. You cant see the backside of the coin at all.

just guessing, the coin may be glued in the holder. Maybe a little heat would loosen the glue some

if the heat can get the plate off the back of the coin, then maybe some acetone to remove any glue residue.

if it is glued on, maybe acetone from the start would dissolve the glue enough to separate the coin from the holder, then apply again for any glue residue.

using acetone is safe for the coin, but can be dangerous for you. Wait for an expert to give their opinion

Excellent, thanks Fuzzy! I shall wait for expert to confirm, but your theory makes sense.

On a different note, I belive this coin has been tooled? Along with being polished. When I examine it closely under my 60x loupe, there are thousands of scratches, which I assume is from the polishing. I think its tooled because there as finer, smaller scratches that radiate around all the devices on the coin. And I mean all. Every detail has these. I've never seen a cleaned coin up close before. Its really quite sad.

Is anyone awake right now who can upload pictures to.this thread if I send them to them? Its 2am here and I finally got this baby out of the braclet after soaking its in acetone for 3 hrs. The reverse is magnificent. The small amout of glue care off very well and left no trace. This thing is almost mirror like its so beautiful. No polish or anything has ever touched this. Hardly a scratch even with the loupe. Anyway I want to show you all but I cant upload pics from my phone. So whos up and wants to see this.beauty first! Sorry to ask but I'm just uber excited to show you guys.
Pm me or post here.

Oh glad I checked one last time. Thank you very much fuzzy.
In the order they appear in the album
1. The disc I removed it from
2 and 3 obverse pics. Sadly.polished alot.
4. After the glue is removed, notice my hand reflect off the surface
5. Another after glue removed, different angle.
6.7.8 just show where the glue was.
9 is the coin in the acetone. I was just so excited I had to take a pic
