I came across a nickel that looks gold plated but I have only heard of gold plated half dollars.

Gold-Plated-Nickel?

On the Monticello side there was a green layer of something but I was able to just scrape it off with my finger nails the Jefferson side appears gold as well and there wasn't any green stuff on that side.

Do you guys think this is gold plated? And if so is it worth anything?

By the way its a 1980 D

its just toning not gold plated. Gold plated is a lot shinier. Trust me I've found one before
