I've been doing some searching, found that it matches for the Hsien-feng. Can't match the back except for maybe the Fu mint? The back is what I am having trouble finding. Any help Thanks! Identified - moved to World Coins forum - Sap

It's Hsien Feng, 10 Cash, Fukien Mint. Not in KM (surprise surprise), if it's real it's probably in Fisher or Schjoth, but I'm not at home right now to look at them.

Yes, Mint = Boo Fu, Denomination at top - 10 coppers I'm home now, I'll grab Fisher's Ding and look in there for it.

OK, I've found your reverse type. It's listed in the Hartill catalogue (Cast Chinese Coins) as number 22.790 and is given a rarity factor of "3", where "1" is super-unique and "15" is super-common. There is also a note underneath this class of coin: "Authenticity of this type doubtful". The characters at the bottom of the reverse indicate the intended weight (in this case, 7 qian 5 fen) and apparently these weights are too high for the official weights of coinage of this emperor. Further, there are no official records that such coins were ever produced.
Needless to say, it's almost entirely certain that your coin is a replica or reproduction.

Quote: ...It's listed in the Hartill catalogue (Cast Chinese Coins) as number 22.790... Please note that there is an error in the catalogue regarding this coin. The written description for 22.790 is correct for the OP coin but the image that matches this description is 22.791 and not 22.790. The image for 22.790 matches the written description for 22.791. Yes, I did notice that. I'd already corrected the numbers under the two pictures.

How would I be able to go about testing it to see if it is real or fake from your findings?
