This looks like a substantial Die Crack to me on the Mass State side of the coin.

There appears to be a crack running through the peninsula which looks like a canal.

Also a crack running from the peninsula to the first T in State (The Bay State), and badly distorting that T.

Many other small cracks throughout the coin field, and others causing gouges.

Can anyone verify if I am seeing this correctly?

Is this considered to be significant?

Any extra value?

Thanks for looking and commenting!

From the images of the area around State, it appears as damage from another coin. If it were a die crack it would be raised. If it were a die chip it would be raised. But what I see in that area appears as incuse with a moverment of metal from another coin. The other images are too close to see what is going on. If you have to look that close to see something, it not really collectable. Die cracks and chips I feel don't consider collectable as they are very common. If the coin has an extra long die crack, then there is also some interest in these. A Cud on the rim of a coin is collectable as they are musch less common than die chips. Cracks and chips are just the die showing age. Extreme cracks and Cuds are a signal that the die has reached it's end.
