Hi:

Can anyone recommend a good microscope for the dual purpose of cleaning and photographing? Also, it would need to be a good microscope for seeing legends on the computer screen.

Thanks!

I bought one of the cheapo ones a few years back, cant even remember the name! It was about $60 at the time and about $20 now. Its fine for cleaning and reading legends but the photos are poor, I would recommend against the super cheap ones (they are all made in the same factories and get different brands stamped onto them for sale) if you want decent pictures.

From what I can see Dino-Lite does seem to be a step up in quality, but also in price.

steve,

I saw one in action at the FUN show last year, and although pricey, it was awesome. There are many different features that personally make it worth the money. I'm still saving for one

I have a Dino-Lite catalog at home w/ the model #s. I'll check it out after work today & let you know what I thought was the best one.

Thanks, everyone. I have an eye on a Dino-Lite AM2011 on E-Bay which is USB, and up to 200X. Camera, stand and shipping,$168.99 USD.. May go with this one..

steve,

I was looking at the AM413T & the AM4012N at the FUN show. So very nice & both had a lot of features. But honestly, I think any of the models would be nice to own...
