Just found out from NGC that my recently acquired 1762 threepence is an overdate 1762/3. Not seen this listed but seen a 1762/1. Is this overdate rare at all or common? Thanks, marbury

I also found a 1743/1 overdate Shilling that was whizzed to look like a higher grade coin. I could not find a listing on this overdate.

Some 30 known dies were made for the 1762 3d issue, so it is reasonable to expect that some would be repaired, recut and redated to 1763 to save money, time etc.

Please could you post a link or some info to the 1762/1 overdate, I would like to take a look?
