Yes. The PCGS slab seems to be generating higher bids too.

Man, he crammed that through PCGS quick. He's made the cost of the fast turnaround back on the auction, though.

I wonder why the seller originally had it graded by CCCS. You don't see too many American coins graded by them.

I actually purchased this coin last year raw from that seller tangjoc as a BIN for an amount I won't divulge but I will tell you this. When I got the coin in hand, I felt it was not authentic. The thickness of the planchet was half that of a genuine Chain Cent of this level of preservation.
I did not like the pinkish color and the Chain seemed to be "sunk" slightly into the coin. I highly doubted this coins authenticity and am very surprised PCGS authenticated it
I have since acquired a much nicer Chain Cent, in my opinion, that PCGS has graded PO01.

Idle question - if the planchet were much too thin, wouldn't the fit in the PCGS slab be problematic?

Not with the new generation holders. The coin appeared to have the same diameter which would fit.
