Here is what was left in the jar, And of course the coin looks great.. It just has a wee little left on it so I will soak it while at work and when I get home the drying out starts. epikur Pillar of the Community Sweden 729 Posts	Posted 02/27/2013 07:47 am Looks awesome...acetone does wonders! remember to wash it first with clean acetone, then plenty of deionized water before letting it dry....or at least that's what I do after I soaked a coin. Maybe for a piece of jewelry or bolo tie. I'm glad the acetone worked. If you want a grade you'll have to post clean, clear, sharp images. Thanks for sharing this. Report this Post to the Staff

eSinger Pillar of the Community United States 523 Posts	Posted 02/27/2013 7:22 pm OK here are the results, What I have noticed is that the reverse still has the mint luster while the obverse does not. Its in great shape for sure and looks great but the luster is gone, therefore the best I could do is AU-50 maybe..Still a great experiment and I learned a lot. Acetone dries quickly and thoroughly. And yeah, a nice AU50 or possibly 55. Shame it had that gunk on it. Might have made MS if the luster had not been eaten away by it. Great deal regardless!
