Here I have a coin which I would love to know a bit more about. Any information you can give me on country, age and value would be great. It weighs 2 grams. Thanks in advance.
This is a Western Kshatrap coin. The readable portion of the legend reads "Bhartr damna". The issuer might be Bhartr daman or his successor. It is because those rulers used to write on their coins " so and so son of so and so" just as sultans used to write "ibn"
"Bhartrdaman was a Saka ruler of the Western Kshatrapas in northwestern India from around 278 to 295." says Wikipedia. It is about 1750 years old. There is an image of Bhartrdaman coin also. Please have a look at http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhartrdaman
